Well, we’ve learned more about “Camp Rivian.” Our Instagram buddy ajauntwithjoy share with us that, “Autocamp and Rivian collabed to bring a pop-up autocamp to Coachella for the influencers/content creators they’re co-hosting as brands for the event.”
We eventually found some videos from Rivian on Instagram.
Did you see that sea of AutoCamp Airstreams? Do they really have THAT many Airstreams “just hanging around”? We strongly suspect, as noted below, they are – or were – slated for AutoCamp Hill Country that has never opened. Considering a number of influencers had brands cancel them at the last minute, it doesn’t look like AutoCamp or Rivian stuck it to their influencers. Good move!
Well, this is ODD. Literally TWO days before the festival is set to begin, an AutoCamp Rivian Partnership at Coachella has been announced on social media.
Two days?! Posted April 8, 2026:
AutoCamp Rivian Partnership at Coachella – What is it?
So…like…can you RENT an AutoCamp Airstream at Coachella? The above post sure isn’t clear about that. What’s a basecamp? For whom? Do you pay for it? Day pass? Overnight? What????
There is nothing on the AutoCamp website to help with these questions.
But, we found this page.

Ok…still wondering…what’s “basecamp”? After all, an AutoCamp Basecamp is an Airstream plus a tent for families.

So this seems to help… a bit…

Ok, then! So Coachella attendees can rent an AutoCamp Airstream?! Let’s book it, right?
Uh, noooo…. look at the top right of that image. There is no way to BOOK Coachella. Instead…

Sign up? What the absolute… the festival starts in TWO DAYS. You can’t book Camp Rivian? You can sign up for more info?!
Of all the strange things we’ve seen from AutoCamp, this one takes the cake.
Oh, we should also mention, Rivian does not mention AutoCamp on social media in relation to Camp Rivian as of 24 hours prior to the festival starting. As we said: WEIRD.
AutoCamp Rivian Partnership at Coachella – What’s in it for Rivian?
We truly don’t know. Other than AutoCamp mentioning this on one web page that is not publicized and a social media post two days before the festival, we can’t see any other reason for Rivian to be attached to this campaign.
AutoCamp Rivian Partnership at Coachella – What’s in it for AutoCamp?
We truly don’t know. Have they moved Airstreams to the Coachella Valley? From where? Maybe they’re the campers that were designated for Texas Hill Country. We’re hearing a rumor that AutoCamp is no longer opening the Texas location. If so, those campers are sitting around looking for a purpose. We covered the tragic flooding in Hill Country last year, and Hill Country is long, long delayed in opening. Frankly, we’re surprised it’s still listed as “coming soon” under the locations of the AutoCamp website. AutoCamp Hill Country was originally announced on July 26, 2022 to be opened in 2023.
AutoCamp Rivian Partnership at Coachella – Conclusion: it’s just plain Weird
AutoCamp Rivian Partnership at Coachella is just plain weird.
Why?
AutoCamp campers are residential. They don’t move. You go TO an AutoCamp to stay in an on-site Airstream.
Rivians pull campers. Not AutoCamp Airstreams.
Why didn’t Rivian partner with Airstream themselves?
THAT would have made sense.
Aside
