AutoCamp Sequoia Location

Published on August 29, 2022 | Modified on October 31, 2022

I started to do some research on one of the new AutoCamp locations recently announced. AutoCamp Sequoia will be the fourth location in California for AutoCamp. Joshua Tree, Russian River, and Yosemite are the locations already open.

While AutoCamp hasn’t announced the official location, it’s pretty clear it is located in Three Rivers, Califorinia. How can I deduce that? Because on the page that announced the new locations, they suggest the following locations to visit while at AutoCamp Sequia:

Gourmet Food TrucksPupusas la Sabrosa and Ol Buckaroo (Tip: Order the mushroom risotto or the lemon ricotta pancakes)

Quaint Coffee ShopsSequoia Coffee Company and Antoinette’s Coffee and Goodies

These locations are all just 11 minutes from Sequoia National Park.

However, they also recommend Crystal Cave, but that is 1 hour 10 minutes from Three Rivers.

So, best guess will be the location will be in the popular Three Rivers, California location. What will be most interesting:

Exact location and privacy

There is a photo on the website that indicates it may be directly on a river. That photo also shows far more privacy than other AutoCamp locations. As lack of privacy, Airstreams being too close together has been a criticism, it will be interesting to see if the layout of Sequoia affords more privacy

Clubhouse

AutoCamp Clubhouses are fantastic and beautiful. Each is unique to their location. It will be very interesting to see what this location will bring to the luxury table.

Amenities

One of the key features of the Clubhouse location is amenities. For example, Catskills has a hot tub. Cape Cod is on a popular bike trail. It will be exactly to see what the amenities are a Sequoia. The river is likely to play a key piece of the offerings.

Accommodations and Options

How many Airstreams? Will there be any tents? Vista Suites? No word on that yet. Eyes are on the news to find out details of what’s to come.

  1. I believe the location for the Sequoia Auto Camp is 40457 Sierra Dr. Three Rivers, CA. On Google maps it shows up as Sequoia Campground and Lodge, but the website associated with it links back to Auto Camp Sequoia.
In several of the other locations, Auto Camp took over old campgrounds so that’s probably what happened here.

  2. Hi John – terrific feedback, thank you! I’m hoping to visit the 3 properties currently open in CA in March or April of ’23. I wish Sequoia would be open, as well! I’ll just have to make 2 trips. No one will feel sorry for me. I appreciate your input!

    • I’ve stayed at both the Russian River and Yosemite properties and both are great. Sequoia is one of my favorite places in the world so I’ll be going once it opens.

      • You must be CA-based. East coast here, hence the first trip to Cape Cod. Catskills coming up this week! Wishing Sequoia would open by March so I could hit all 4 properties on my road trip, but it looks like I’ll be making a return trip. Not complaining! 😀

  3. If you’re interested in contributing any reviews or blog posts, it’d be great to have another “voice” here. Just reach out. Thanks!

  4. Sequoia Campground and Cabins is in fact the location for the new Autocamp Sequoia. We have camped in RV and tent there in the past. The river is beautiful in the summer time there, the location is right on the edge of the town of Three Rivers and actually right where the 3 rivers merge together. The lodge is under construction and other building slabs are finished.

    • Awesome news and update, thank you, Chris. That’s encouraging that it’s a former campground, like Cape Cod and Catskills. My experience is that the former campgrounds make for the best AutoCamp locations. Of course, as the newly created properties like Zion and Joshua Tree mature with vegetation, they’ll also become great properties, but it will take time. AutoCamp has the opening date as “mid 2024”. Your description has me concerned for what I was hoping would be a September visit. Please keep the updates coming!
