UpDate: Delays at AutoCamp Sequoia
February 22, 2024 Update: MORE DELAYS. Now they won’t be open until “mid-2024”.
AutoCamp initially projected AutoCamp Sequoia to be open “late-2023”. Now, as of April 2023, they have changed the date to “WINTER 2023/2024”. And now in February 2024, it’s pushed to “mid-2024”. However, we have updates on the status of progress, and we’re not convinced it will be “mid-2024”.
Why is this news? Because AutoCamp is missing their projected date on all 4 locations to be opened in 2023. Read about their hope to open 100 AutoCamp locations within 10 years but missing the mark on all 4 2023 properties.
AutoCamp Sequoia in California will be opening “late-2023,” and we have a sneak peak of the location and what to expect.
AutoCamp Sequoia Location, Airstreams, X Suites & More
With the help of one of our followers, the address for AutoCamp Sequoia has been identified as being located at 40457 Sierra Dr. Three Rivers, CA. This is terrific location, very near the entrance to Sequoia National Park.
Notice it is also very close to Lake Kaweah. It’s actually a reservoir, but it offers, boating, fishing, and water craft rentals. Really!
Kaweah Marina, for example, offers to rent

- fishing boats
- aqua cycles
- kayaks
- paddle boards
You had me at patio boats! This is a MUST for ACR&N! This trip is really taking shape!
Lake Kaweah Rentals offers
- jet ski rental
- waverunners
- boat tours
- water sport activities and lessons
- flyboarding and water toy rentals
This is starting to sound like a very busy “lake”! If it’s a reservoir, we’re not used to seeing so much recreation on water others are going to drink! Hopefully, those are electric motors.
But hey, this is a MUST for ACR&N! This trip is really taking shape! Hell, we’ll bring our own bottled water.
shorttermrentalz.com states that AutoCamp Sequoia will have 85 accommodations in total, including:
- 56 Airstreams
- 6 X Suites
- 15 BaseCamps
- 8 cabins
Compared to the other AutoCamp locations, it seems as though it will be about the same size as AutoCamp Catskills. As always, we hope AutoCamp will make the campsites less dense – more spread out.
First impression: we’ll do probably 4 nights at AutoCamp Sequoia in an X Suite (more comfortable for a longer stay) combined with 4 nights at AutoCamp Yosemite. When? We don’t know yet.
We’ve got our cross country trip to visit AutoCamp Zion, AutoCamp Joshua Tree, and AutoCamp Russian River in March/April 2023 (coming up!). We will likely add a fall trip…AutoCamp Hill Country or AutoCamp Asheville are most likely.
