Further Delays in New AutoCamp Locations
July 2025 – 2nd Update
Asheville calendar is now indicating November 13 opening date. WHAT in the world is going on?!

July 2025: VERY BAD NEWS FOR ASHEVILLE
We are really sorry to find out that there is now NO OPENING DATE FOR ASHEVILLE. We spoke with AutoCamp, and they have confirmed the reason there is no availablity ANYWHERE on the calendar is that they do not know the opening date. Look at the calendar below or on their site. Everything in RED means there is no availability. This is true for every month in 2025 and 2026.
We have our suspicions that Asheville is never going to open. Read more...

June 2025 Update
Poor, poort AutoCamp Hill Country in Texas, it’s now backed up to “mid 2026” for an opening. FOUR YEARS LATE! If it even opens then. We cannot get info on WHY.
Asheville is set to open September 1, 2025. They were only going to be 2 years late until Hurricane Helene Hit. We had reservations for November 2024 that were, of course, canceled due to the hurricane. We are planning on visiting in early November 2025, though we hear the entire Asheville area is still very, very rough from the hurricane damage. We’ll go spend some money at the open businesses to support them – and AutoCamp.
Lordy…how many delays can we cover?!
Yup. More.

AutoCamp Sequoia is taking reservations starting March 6, 2025 (3 years late).
AutoCamp Hill Country, Texas – who knows? Reservations are still not open. It’s now about 3 YEARS DELAYED.

On July 26, 2022, AutoCamp announced there would be 4 new locations opened in 2023. They have delayed all but one (Zion) repeatedly. Now, they’re delaying the new locations once again. Is AutoCamp having problems?
The 4 New Locations
The new locations announced on July 26, 2022 were
AutoCamp Zion was originally scheduled to open “Early 2023”. It opened May 1. Not far off the mark, but it wasn’t early. A third of the year was over. It was second quarter. And because it was late, we will make a special trip to visit and review very soon, as opposed to visiting during our cross country trip in March/April. But that all is quite minor considering what is happening with the other 3 locations.
On our way east from that trip, we stopped at the Airstream factory and museum. We learned that there are possibly hundreds of Airstreams completed and ready for delivery to AutoCamp – but AutoCamp isn’t ready for them.
We’ve been watching the expected opening dates for almost a year now, and they keep getting pushed back.

Can AutoCamp Really Open 100 New Autocamp Locations?
We had learned that AutoCamp plans on opening 100 locations in 10 years. We’re seriously questioning if there is something wrong with the health of the AutoCamp business. How could they be having so much trouble opening just a few locations, to the point that Airstream has campers sitting on their lots in Ohio, waiting for AutoCamp to need them?
There is serious and plentiful competition coming to the glamping market. While there is “explosive growth” projected, AutoCamp barely was even mentioned in this article naming many other glamping businesses. We’ll cover those businesses in an upcoming article.
AutoCamp has over $250 million in funding. So they seem to have what they need to purchase properties, buy Airstreams and tents, build X suites, and set up their beautiful clubhouses. So they question is – what in the world is going on that AutoCamp can’t even stick to their own projections, less than one year from the announcement about the new AutoCamp locations?
We’re watching to see where this goes. We’re concerned.
