AutoCamp Russian River was the first AutoCamp and is also the smallest. Its setup is different than the AutoCamp locations with the tents taking center stage with the Airstreams being on the outside of the horseshoe. We’re going to review, below, the AutoCamp Russian River Redwood Suites and the other lodging options at the Guerneville, CA AutoCamp
Check out our full review of AutoCamp Russian River. Here, we are focusing on the Redwood Suites.
Russian River Redwood Suites
AutoCamp offers Classic, Premium, and Vista “Suites” at all of the other AutoCamp properties. First, they use the term “suite” for each campsite, whether it is a tent, an Airstream, a cabin, or an X Suite. So, then, what in the heck is a Redwood Suite?
It has a wood fired hot tub for two! And it’s only available at AutoCamp Russian River
There are only 2 Redwood Suites at AutoCamp Russian River – Numbers 8 and 11. As you’ll see, number 8 is a bit more private than number 11:
Other Accommodations at AutoCamp Russian River
There is one “Happier Camper” – it’s an itsy bitsy camper with no bathroom, pretty much just a hard shell tent:
There is also one X Suite:
And of course, there are the iconic custom, luxury Airstreams. This photo was from when they first opened, before all the vegetation grew in, but it gives you a great idea of the layout of the horseshoe around the tent and lawns. The 2 Redwood Suites are on the left, and they back to a woods and stream.
Conclusion: Cost of the Redwood Suite
I searched for September 27 -28, 2023 for availability. This was the only date where I could find every accommodation type available. The prices were (excluding taxes and the $25 night resort fee – and potential $75 dog fee, if you bring one) :
- glamping tent – $280
- Happy Camper – $280
- Classic Airstream – $365
- Premium Airstream – $399
- X Suite – $399
- Redwood Suite – $433
Is the Redwood Suite worth more than the Classic Airstream? That’s a $68 difference. If you will use the hot tub, then yes, it’s worth it.
Is the Premium Airstream worth $34 more than the Classic. NO WAY. Look at that photo. That includes both Classics and Premiums. Don’t waste your money on Premium.
