AutoCamp Locations and Property Descriptions
AutoCamp Founder and CEO Neil Dipaola said earlier in 2022, there are 15 new properties in the works on top of the first 5 locations: Catskills, Cape Cod, Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Zion. AutoCamp plans to have locations within a half day’s drive of the top 25 major metro areas across the U.S. Let’s look at the existing locations and descriptions, planned locations, their sizes, and what they’ll offer.

AutoCamp Accomodations
For those not familiar, AutoCamp offers several types of accommodations. Be sure to familiarize yourself with not only the type of accommodation, but the level of accommodation. You’ll pay for “Premium” and “Vista,” but it’s not always worth it! Read about the levels.
- Custom Airstreams (open year ’round)
- X Suites (open year ’round – our recommendation for fall/winter)
- Luxury Tents (not available year ’round)
- Basecamps (a “teepee” – or regular – style tent added to the Airstreams to make the kids sleep in tent)
- Cabins hold the most people, in part because of bunks. They are not offered at all locations. See below to see who has them.
AutoCamp Locations and Property Descriptions
AutoCamp Asheville
Opening late 2023 – originally scheduled for mid 2023.
There is very conflicting information regarding what will be available for lodging.
ExploreAsheville.com says AutoCamp Asheville will offer
- 16 luxury custom Airstream campers
- 6 X suites
- a clubhouse that will feature a bar.
- There is no word yet about tents, but considering AutoCamp Asheville is located near Mount Pisgah, they may not have tents due to a large and active bear population.
At 12.46 acres, AutoCamp Asheville would be the second smallest AutoCamp location, second only to AutoCamp Russian River at 3 acres. However, AutoCamp Russian River hosts 35 camping spots, but the early press on AutoCamp Asheville is that it will host only 26 camping locations between custom Airstream and X Suites.
However, shorttermrentalz.com has a very different take on what will be offered. They say there will be 67 accommodations, comprised of:

4 BaseCamps
6 X suites
6 Bambi Airstreams
Obviously, one of them is very wrong. Twenty-two seem extremely low, but 67 seems very high for only 12.46 acres.

Opened 2016 (first AutoCamp). Make reservations.
Note, this is the first AutoCamp to have opened. It’s also the smallest in terms of both acres and number of Airstreams. NO X Suites.

Opening Winter “mid-2024” (note: this was originally scheduled for “late 2023”.
Location: 40457 Sierra Dr. Three Rivers, CA.

However, Sequoia is offering a new lodging type called “Bunk Rooms”. They seem to be a step up from a tent, but definitely not a cabin.
